 Introductory acupuncture course

This course includes

*basic TCM theory

*basic acupuncture theory

*diagnosis and treatment of 25 common diseases according to TCM syndrome differentiation, as listed by the World Health Organization (WHO),e. g, windstroke, headache, stomachache, dysmenorrhea, common cold and so on.

Pre-requisites:    none

Recommended texts: as required

Duration:320 hours, including 130 hours clinical practice,

Dates: first Monday in March-31 May

Assessment: written and practical examination

Certification: successful candidates will receive a certificate authorized by the National Administration of TCM.

 

 Advanced acupuncture course

This course includes

*knowledge and use of fundamental acupuncture theory

*the systematic introduction to the channel system

*an extensive  knowledge of some 250 points

*syndrome differentiation and diagnosis in the treatment of  an additional 45 common diseases as listed by WHO e. g: rhinitis, bronchitis ,asthma, chronic gastritis and so on.

Pre-requisites: introductory acupuncture course or equivalent. Certified transcripts or certified proof of academic qualifications is required with application.

Recommended texts :  as required

Duration : 320 hours including 140 hours clinical practice clinical practice

Dates: first Monday in September¡ª30 November.

Assessment: written and practical examination

Certification: successful candidates will receive a certificate authorized by the National Administration of TCM.

 

.Herbal Medicine Course

This course includes

*elementary TCM theory

*Basic Chinese pharmacology and prescriptions

 and through clinical observation

*a grasp of diagnostic and therapeutic principles

*an application of common Chinese herbal prescriptions and some patent TCM medicines according to TCM theory

Pre-requisites:  none

Recommended text none

Duration     320 hours, including 140 hours practical experiences

Dates        first Monday in April ¨C30 June

Assessment   written and practical examination

Certification: successful candidates will receive a certificate authorized by the National Administration of TCM.

 

.Tuina course

The course includes

*preliminary knowledge of TCM and tuina

*skills in practical tuina techniques

*syndrome differentiation of common diseases such as shoulder arthritis , rheumatoid arthritis, ankle sprain and other conditions that respond well to tuina therapy

Pre-requisites none

Recommended text none

Duration : 240 hours including 120 hours of practice . 

Dates: first Monday in March¡ª30, April

Assessment   written and practical examination

Certification: successful candidates will receive a certificate conferred by NUTCM.

Clinical Study Course

This course covers general clinical practice and includes lectures as required on subjects such as e.g.: gynecology, urogenital system and so on.

Pre-requisites: open to qualified experienced practitioners who know TCM theory.

Duration:1-4 weeks or as required

Dates: First Monday of the month from March-December , except May and October, then the second week.

Assessment:  Practical examination and course work

Certification : successful candidates will receive a certificate conferred by NUTCM.

Seminars

These seminars study special TCM diagnostic and therapeutic, methods, through theory and practice . Subject matter is flexible

There are two sections of study .

1, special diseases such as neurology, cardiology, digestive system , vascular disorders and so on.

2, Special techniques such as scalp or ear acupuncture or qi gong

Pre-requisites: Open to qualified, experienced practioners who know TCM theory

Duration: 1-4 weeks, or as required

Dates: First Monday of the month from March¡ªDecember except May and October, then the second week

Assessment : the standard of understanding of clinical practice

Certification: successful candidates will receive a certificate conferred by NUTCM.  

 

Lectures and clinical practice

Lectures are given in Chinese or in Chinese with interpreters, in carpeted, heated and air-conditioned modern classrooms.

Clinical practice is held in groups of 3 or 4 in one of the 3 affiliated hospitals in Nanjing or one of the 14 departments designated for this task. Interpreters are provided where required.

 

Other Courses¡ªChinese Massage£¬Qigong£¬Taiji

Courses of Chinese Massage /Qigong and Taiji are available when group students can be formed by at least 5 persons.
